To advance interoperability, Stellar has opened a two-way bridge to Ethereum, integrating its protocol with Ethereum’s mainnet. According to market development released today, Stellar revealed the launch of VIA Labs’ cross-chain messaging system on its mainnet.

Stellar rolls out enhanced two-way Ethereum bridge
Stellar’s move to open the VIA Labs’ multichain bridge on its protocol gives its Soroban smart contract platform direct, two-way communication with Ethereum. The connection now lets smart contracts on both Stellar and Ethereum exchange messages and applications through VIA Labs’ multichain messaging system.
The cross-chain bridge integration matters in several ways. As the announcement states, it lets Stellar developers efficiently move supported applications and assets between networks. It also enables developers to orchestrate contract activities across chains, including building applications around stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets.
Meanwhile, the multichain bridge addresses fragmentation on Stellar by letting users move assets and interact efficiently with different blockchain environments, including the Ethereum ecosystem.
RWA demand on Stellar heating up
The two-way Ethereum bridge integrates at a time when the RWA narrative continues to gain momentum on Stellar. The network is rapidly emerging as a major force in the race to tokenize RWAs, with billions of dollars flocking into the blockchain.
This is evident in Securitize, the largest tokenization platform, which has integrated the Stellar network to issue and manage its tokenized financial assets. Other dominant global asset managers that recently moved tokenized funds to Stellar include Pontoro, ArchaxEX, among others, underscoring the network’s growing popularity.
By unveiling the groundbreaking two-way Ethereum bridge, Stellar addresses the complex engineering challenge in RWA tokenization. To accurately represent physical commodities, bonds, real estate, and more on the blockchain, Stellar needs not only strong, interoperable smart contracts but also a flawless, tamper-proof data bridge. This is where the two-way Ethereum bridge comes in.
